Michael Hickey, PA-C
Mike Hickey is a Physician Assistant at SOSI with a diverse background in both medicine and leadership. He earned his undergraduate degree at Columbia University in New York City, where he graduated with a double major in History and English Literature. Mike then went on to complete his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Saint Bonaventure University in western New York.
Mike’s journey into medicine began as a combat medic in the US Army with the First Cavalry, where he deployed to Iraq with an infantry company. His medical career continued as an ER technician at the Steamboat Emergency Center, where he was inspired to pursue his education and become a PA.
Since becoming a Physician Assistant, Mike has worked in Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery in Olean, New York. He has been a part of the orthopedic team at Saint Bonaventure University and has volunteered with Remote Area Medical, providing care to underserved populations.
Outside of medicine, Mike is passionate about hiking with his dogs, Vinny Testaverde and Katy Perry, traveling, and bike touring. A former rugby coach, he led the Steamboat Rugby Club to a Mountain League Championship in 2019.
