Dr. Pfeiffer is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with specialized training in general orthopedics and sports medicine. His practice emphasizes general orthopedic surgery, which includes arthroscopic knee and shoulder procedures, total joint replacements of the hip and knee, as well as sports trauma and fractures.
Dr. Pfeiffer has dedicated years to cultivating his passion for the outdoor activities that his patients love, thanks to his ten years of private practice in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He also served as a clinical professor in the Department of Orthopedics for both the Veterans Administration and the University of Colorado in Denver. Following his private practice, Dr. Pfeiffer was the Fellowship Director of Sports Medicine and an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Texas Tech University. He has previously worked with Vail Summit Orthopedic Group, Health First Medical Group in Melbourne, Florida, and Covenant Medical Group in Lubbock, Texas.
Dr. Pfeiffer's enthusiasm for sports medicine extends beyond the clinic. He has taken on various roles as the team physician for the U.S. Olympic Alpine ski and snowboarding teams, as well as for Texas Tech University, Lubbock Christian University, and several high school teams in both Colorado and Texas. Dr. Pfeiffer is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in both orthopedic surgery and orthopedic sports medicine. Dr. Pfeiffer enjoys a variety of hobbies, including flying, skiing, mountain biking, sailing, and fly fishing.
He has been married for 35 years to his wife, Karyn, a microbiologist who actively participates in numerous volunteer roles in the community. They have two married children, Tim and Jenni, who reside in Maryland and Texas.
