Radiology Technician
Position Summary
The Radiology Technician at Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute (SOSI) is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopaedic conditions. This role involves using X-ray and C-arm equipment to capture high-quality images, maintaining safety standards, and providing excellent patient care. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, skilled in radiographic techniques, and committed to patient comfort and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform radiologic examinations, including X-rays and fluoroscopic procedures using a C-arm, in accordance with physician orders.
- Position patients correctly and comfortably to obtain accurate diagnostic images.
- Operate and maintain radiology equipment, ensuring proper settings and techniques are used, including C-arm positioning for surgical or interventional procedures.
- Ensure patient safety by following radiation safety protocols and wearing protective equipment.
- Review images for quality, clarity, and proper positioning before submitting them to the radiologist for interpretation.
- Maintain accurate records of patient procedures and update electronic medical records (EMR).
- Communicate with physicians and medical staff regarding imaging needs and results.
- Assist with patient preparation and mobility, ensuring a positive and supportive experience.
- Maintain radiology supplies and order replacements as needed.
- Comply with all applicable regulations, including OSHA, HIPAA, and state-specific guidelines for radiology.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure as a Radiology Technician.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification preferred.
- Experience with C-arm equipment in a surgical or interventional setting required.
- Prior experience in an orthopaedic or clinical setting is a plus.
- Strong understanding of radiographic positioning, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and radiology information systems (RIS).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to delivering quality patient care.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday. Hours may vary based on clinic needs.
