Dr. Alexander Meininger is a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon whose practice focuses on knee, hip and shoulder injuries. He performs more than 500 knee surgeries a year; about 150 of which are ACL reconstructions. Dr. Meininger is fellowship-trained and holds specialty certification in Sports Medicine. He specializes in minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques, knee injuries including ACL and meniscus injuries, joint and cartilage preservation, regenerative medicine and trauma. Dr. Meininger is recognized by the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) as a national leader in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery.
Dr. Meininger is an Official U.S. Ski Team Physician. He is a consulting physician for Velonews, US Pro Cycling Challenge, The Journal of Competitive Cycling, the Big Mountain Enduro series, Western Spirit Tours, and PRCA Rodeo.

Dr. Meininger completed his undergraduate work at the University of Colorado, Boulder, his medical school degree at Rush Medical College of Rush University in Chicago, and his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of Illinois Medical Center. He completed his Sports Medicine fellowship at the University of Chicago. Dr. Meininger has been selected as an Emerging Leader by his peers in the prestigious American Orthopaedic Association. He is an Associate Master’s Instructor of Arthroscopy with AANA and a reviewer for the scientific journal Arthroscopy.
